What is shadow work?

Shadow work is the journey to your inner light. We are born with an empty toolbox. Until we are seven, our brains are in theta, which means we are essentially in a "hypnotic" state taking everything in from our surroundings to learn who we are and the value we bring. We learn this through our interactions with caregivers.  If the environment isn't supportive, we often find coping strategies to make sense of what we're experiencing. These strategies become tools in the toolbox. The tools are good things. They protect us from feeling unimportant, neglected, confused by behaviors from people we instinctively want to love and accept. They also provide a way for us to feel safe.

As we get older, we outgrow them. Some people seek support to find new tools. Many don't and the tools become buttons people can push to trigger because they need to be removed from the architecture of our mindset (subconscious). Shadow work is learning to embrace old coping strategies before releasing them.. Once they are released, our central nervous system's neurons stop processing an "old" triggered self.. It is truly the difference between night and day when people begin seeing how empowering this work is. I will add here that this work is my soul purpose and comes from a place of unconditional love. You will not surprise me! I've included a few links below for a little more information.
